Membership

National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. - Dallas Metropolitan Chapter is committed to the empowerment of black women and girls. We represent a dynamic sisterhood from diverse backgrounds joining forces to make a real impact across DFW communities. We strategically host interest events to share information about our chapter and network with prospective members. Prospective members must be sponsored by an existing member in good standing, as defined by the organizational Bylaws.

Membership Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for membership in the NC100BW Dallas Metropolitan Chapter, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Residency Requirement:
    Live within 100 mile radius of the NC100BW Dallas Metropolitan Chapter.
    *Use the chapter locator on the NCBW website to identify the nearest chapter to your physical address. Apply to the chapter that is closest to you.

  • Leadership Ability:
    Demonstrate actual or potential leadership skills in your professional or community endeavors.

  • Community Representation:
    Reflect key sectors of the community through your occupation, leadership roles, or other activities that contribute to the broader social, economic, or political landscape.

  • Resources for Chapter Programs:
    Be able to demonstrate the availability of key resources such as time, funding, connections, expertise, and a proven track record to support the NC100BW Chapter's programs and initiatives.

  • Reputation and Service:
    Maintain a good reputation and demonstrate a history of dependable, impactful community service.

  • Event Participation:
    Have attended at least one (1) NC100BW Dallas Metropolitan Membership Recruitment Event.

TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP

REGULAR MEMBERS

Regular Members participate fully in the projects and functions of the Chapter by serving on a minimum of two (2) committees and attending no less than seven (7) requisite general membership meetings annually. Regular Members in good standing shall have the full right to vote in the affairs of the Chapter and otherwise enjoy the benefits of membership.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERS

Associate Members shall support the objectives, policies, and procedures of the Chapter, but will not be required to attend regular membership meetings or participate in committee activities. They shall participate in at least (2) two Chapter programs. They shall pay annual dues with no assessments. Associate Members in good standing shall enjoy the benefits of membership but may not vote in the affairs of the Chapter. A member must be an active member and in Good Standing at the Regular Membership level before she can transition to Associate Membership level.

Membership requires the approval of the Board of Directors and a majority vote of all members in good standing along with paying the applicable annual chapter dues and assessments.
